It seems that the always-trendy Style.com came up with a new
way of turning their platform into a multicultural community, where contributors
all around the world will write for the site. With topics like culture, food,
music, and of course fashion, people like Kylie Minogue, Courtney Love, Zachary Quinto, Nicole Richie, and other interesting personas, who live in the
most transcendent cities today, will share their insights on the cities they
habit.
I personally think that this is a great way of bringing, not
only followers and readers, but diversity also. Sometimes the world of fashion,
specially, seems so limited and not available for everyone, even for some
countries, that it might seem out of reach for many. Style.com has made out of
itself a very nice, reliable, and more importantly essential source over the
years when it comes to style (we all know that if it is in Style.com it is law),
so for them to involve this many people (60 to be exact), will help broaden the
horizons to other possibilities and to share with all of us, style seekers, an
international, fresh, and innovative perspective on style. Have I said the word
style enough times already? In case I haven’t, I shall continue.

One thing that really catches my attention is Mexico City’s
contributor to the site, Hamish Anderson. This guy is from England, who lived
in NYC for most of his life, that has recently come to Mexico to learn about
the typical food, and soon to open a restaurant in one of the trendiest
neighborhoods in the city. This makes him a great contributor on the food
category of the site, not to mention how Mexican food itself adds an excellent
proposal to the project. I would love to see a fashion category for this city
on the new Style Map, I believe that there’s a lot of potential in this city
for it to be a fashion capital one day.
I hope they can add a fashion insider to the contributors list soon, I propose
myself to do the job, Style.com you got your girl ;)
Mexico City is still a rough diamond; it only needs more
people to realize that.
